Samsung Galaxy S5 Active gets handled on video

The yet to be announced Samsung Galaxy S5 Active made an unscheduled appearance in a hands-on video. An AT&T version of the device with the model number SM-G870A (in line with past leaks) took part in a four-minute long clip.

The brief video reveals that the upcoming smartphone will likely follow the same formula as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The handset will essentially be a toughened up version of the regular Samsung Galaxy S5.
Curiously, the person who took the video claims that the AMOLED display of the device has a higher resolution than the G900. This claim however, is yet to be confirmed.

Update: Another video of the device got posted on YouTube. It reveals its benchmark performance and confirms its already known specs, including the 1080p display. See it below.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Active is expected to debut in the near future. Its rumored specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC, 2GB of RAM, and 16MP camera.

ASUS announces C200 and C300 Chromebooks

After Lenovo announced two budget Chromebooks, It’s ASUS’ turn. The company announced two new models of its own, the C200 and the C300, that start at just $250. C200 has a 11.6-inch display with 1366×768 resolution whereas the C300 maintains that resolution but goes to 13.3-inch. Both models run on Intel Bay Trail-M processor clocked at 2.42GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, dual-band 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 1 x USB 2.0, 1 x USB 3.0, HDMI 1.4 and an SD card slot. Samsung Galaxy Alpha to be unveiled on August 4

The incredibly often leaked Samsung Galaxy Alpha (seen on the right in the image below) could become official a lot sooner than you may have expected, if a new rumor is to be believed. The device, which will introduce the world to the concept of Samsung using metal in an Android smartphone, is said to be announced on August 4 - that's the coming Monday, by the way. It's also earlier than the August 13 date a past rumor mentioned. This may of course have something to do with the fact that the Galaxy Note 4 will get unveiled at the beginning of September.
