Nokia X2’s tech specs leaked in benchmark


Nokia’s first foray into the world of Android was a bit underwhelming from a raw technical standpoint.
The Finnish company is clearly reserving their higher-end offerings for Windows Phone, but it seems as if they wanted to test the waters by offering a device with Google’s mobile OS. The origina Nokia X was a budget friendly handset priced to move units.
When word of the Nokia X2 broke out, it got us to thinking that maybe Nokia would try and bring a higher-spec’d Android phone to market. However, if this leak is to be believed, the Nokia X2 will be another entry-level smartphone.
We already knew that phone will be powered by a Qualcomm MSM8210 chip, but we didn’t know anything else, until now.
The AnTuTu benchmark report reveals that the Nokia X2 will be rocking Android 4.3, a a dual-core CPU capable at running from 300-1190MHz, an Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB RAM/4GB ROM, and a 4.3” display with 800x480 resolution. On the camera side of things, the X2 will have a 5MP primary unit and a 0.3 selfie snapper.
Any hopes of Nokia taking Android to a flagship status were dashed with this latest report, however, the X2 will still probably be a success if Nokia continues to price the handset aggressively.

Future Nokias may have Carl Zeiss optics, but HMD is playing coy

Long before Huawei partnered with a legendary German camera brand, Nokia put Carl Zeiss-branded lenses on its phones. A recent Tweet led people to believe that partnership will not carry over to the HMD-made phones, but now there’s a glimmer of hope. It turns out that was a mistake - the tweet only meant that the current Nokias (6, 5 and 3) do not have Zeiss optics, not that new phones definitely will not have them. Of course, that’s not the same as confirming that they will, even though the tweet ends with a tantalizing “stay tuned”. New rumor suggests OnePlus 3T will be cheaper in China

When the OnePlus 3T was announced last week, its US and European pricing information was revealed - the device will carry $439 and $479 price tag for the 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively, in the US, while in the EU the prices will be €439 and €479, respectively. Now, a new rumor has revealed the expected price tag the handset will carry in China. According to the rumor, the 64GB variant of the phone is expected to cost RMB 2,799 (around $405), while the 128GB model will set you back RMB 3,299 (around $480). The report adds that there's a possibility that the company might bring down the price of the 128GB variant to RMB 3,199 (around $465). The limited edition Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Injustice Edition smartphone is now available to pre-order in Indonesia. The device is priced at IDR 14.999 million, which translates into around a whopping $1135 at current exchange rates. When the phone was officially announced by the South Korean company last month, it was revealed that the products included in the package may differ by markets and mobile operators. Report: Galaxy S8's facial recognition tech will be used for mobile payments

Last week, there were reports that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature facial recognition technology, which will be used to unlock the phone. Now, a new report is suggesting that the tech will be used for mobile payments as well. MIUI 8 to arrive alongside Mi Max on May 10, Xiaomi confirms

We already know that the Xiaomi Mi Max - which is said to sport a mammoth 6.4-inch FullHD display - will be unveiled on May 10. However, turns out that Xiaomi will make a couple of more announcements that day - the company has confirmed that the next major iteration of its MIUI ROM as well as the Mi Band 2 will also be unveiled on May 10. "Evolving from the first version in 2010, MIUI has served as the operating system for over 150 million across the globe," a post on MIUI forum said. "On May 10, we will introduce you MIUI 8, with the features you always wanted and new designs beyond your imagination."
