EA Aware of Battlefield 4 DLC Issues on Xbox One

Xbox One users have had issues downloading the timed exclusive. A number of Xbox One users have had issues downloading the Xbox One-exclusive Battlefield 4: Second Assault DLC, and EA and Microsoft are currently investigating the matter. It seems that players have been unable to download the DLC - a timed exclusive for the console - after buying the DLC subscription package Battlefield Premium. Many took to Battlelog to voice their complaints, and EA representative 'EA_Rick' subsequently made an official response on the Battlefield social platform. "I know some of you have said already that it is being looked into but I wanted to just confirm it for you so you guys have a blue post to refer to. Right now all I can say is that we are aware of this issue and are currently investigating this with Microsoft. Once we have some more det

Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior Review

Image
A blissful bloodbath.  Exploding heads, blood spray, and gurgling death rattles punctuate the delightful multi-player mayhem of Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior . This DLC follow-up to last year's first-person brawler,  Medieval Warfare, doesn't disappoint in its sheer brutality, but it’s the awesome new factions that let you run screaming into the fray as pirates, ninjas, and other fierce combatants that really heighten the fun this time around. Rather than offer more of the same knight-on-knight combat, Deadliest Warrior's action unfolds between six distinct groups – Samurai, Pirates, Vikings, Ninjas, Spartans, and Knights. The variety this brings to the battlefield, both in terms of di

Battlefield 4 Xbox One Review

Image
64 styles of danger. The Xbox One launch of Battlefield 4 is imperfect, but still strong. Periodic crashes and connectivity issues can be irritating, if you're unfortunate enough to experience them.  Comparatively, Xbox One's servers are more populated than PlayStation 4's, with more readily available 64-player Conquest matches, but it's definitely not as smooth as would be ideal.  These were rare problems, in my experience, and neither negatively affected the excellent core gameplay experience of Battlefield 4's multiplayer. As such, the score of Battlefield 4 remains unaffected, as it's still a terrific game, as described in the review below. We will update this review and remove this disclaimer when Battlefield 4 fully stabilizes. Battlefield 4 is a greatest hits album of DICE’s multiplayer first-person shooter legacy. It retains the defining DNA of Batt

PC is "Far Superior" For Gaming, Says Nvidia

The choice for a new gaming system isn't binary, the tech powehouse says. In an interview with MCV , Nvidia's Matt Wright has posited that there's a third option for a new gaming machine, and that it's the far superior choice: the PC. In the midst of the PS4 and Xbox One frenzy this month, Nvidia has released some smaller, more living-room friendly PCs for the Christmas period. "We are proposing small form-factor PCs to be a viable alternative to the next-gen consoles," said Wright. "Enthusiast players want the ultimate games system and that is the PC." The PC platform is far superior to any console when it comes to gaming... The message from the firm is that the choice this year shouldn't just be between PS4 and Xbox One. "The PC platform is far superior to any console when it comes to gaming, p

AT&T resumes rolling out Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4

Image
A few days back AT&T had started rolling out the Android 4.3 update for the Galaxy S4 in the US, only to pull it a couple of days later after a few devices that received the update started facing issues. Now about a week later, the company has started rolling out a new build, hopefully having fixed whatever issues that were present in the previous update. The update will upgrade your Galaxy S4 to Android 4.3, along with adding features such as Galaxy Gear support, Samsung Knox support, Group Play 2.5, Samsung Apps, drag and drop to uninstall or disable applications and call reliability improvements. The update is 719MB in size and is now rolling out to the S4 in the US.

Nokia working on a dual-SIM Lumia smartphone

We already knew Nokia is working on a some sort of smartphone with the codename Moneypenny. Now a new info from popular leakster @evleaks says the company is also releasing a dual-SIM variant of the upcoming device. Nokia planning a dual-SIM version of Windows Phone Blue-powered Moneypenny. — @evleaks (@evleaks) November 27, 2013 Nokia's Moneypenny along with Goldfinger will be the first smartphones to feature the WP 8.1 Blue out of box. It appears that the new release will finally bring support for dual-SIM smartphones to the platform, allowing Nokia to compete more successfully in developing markets, where a second SIM slot is often seen as a mandatory feature. If the earlier rumors are to be trusted, WP 8.1 Blue will also bring a notification center, better multi-tasking and a Siri-like Cortana voice assistant. There is no word on the specifications and the launch date of Moneypenny, but since Microsoft is expected to announce the WP 8.1 OS in early 201

Oppo R829T teased in a first official photo

Image
Oppo has posted the first official photo of its upcoming R829T phone on its Weibo page. The teaser image shows just the back of the phone - but its enough to give us a better idea of what the phone would look like. The photo shows that the R829T will have some sort of reflective material used for its back panel and won't stick with the matte finish of the Find 5. Oppo calls it a "holographic mirror design" and promises the phone to be another Oppo classic. Strong words, indeed, but we definitely like what we see. The edges of the glass back look to be chamfered and you can spot the metal frame surrounding the phone. The camera and LED flash are situated on the top left corner with earlier rumors pointing at a 13MP snapper. The Oppo R829T will be powered by a MediaTek MT6589 chipset (quad-core Cortex-A7 at 1.2GHz) with 1GB RAM. The Oppo R829T has just undergone its certification process in China, but no official launch date has been provided just

Nokia Lumia 520 goes on sale for $50 off-contract

Image
Just a day after the Nokia Lumia 525 became official , its predecessor the Lumia 520 gets an impressive price cut. AT&T and the official Windows Store will be selling the phone for $50 starting today. The price is for an off-contract device. Starting today select AT&T stores across the USA as well as the online Windows Store will be offering the Lumia 520 for $50. You don't have much time to make up your mind whether you'll want it or not, because the promotion ends December 2. The Nokia Lumia 520 is by far the greatest bestseller of the Finns and we liked it a lot when we reviewed it . Admittedly, Nokia has cut some corners here and there to make the Lumia 520 as affordable as it could possibly be, but at $50 buying it is a no-brainer. Nokia is yet to put a price tag on the Lumia 525. Hopefully, the manufacturer won't go much higher than the Lumia 520.

News HTC One Dual SIM with microSD slot coming to UK

Image
HTC One hit the shelves in late March and despite its initial production issues, it's still one of the most popular smartphones in the market. Unfortunately HTC One didn't have a microSD card slot for memory expansion and it faced a lot of negative feedback about it. What's really odd is that HTC was offering a microSD-enabled dual-SIM model of the One on the Chinese market, but didn't give the international version the same treatment. The good news is HTC is finally going to offer the same dual-SIM and microSD-enabled HTC One in the UK. The phone is already available on pre-order via the official HTC online store and costs £494.99 for the 32GB model. There is no info on the release date just yet, but we hope it will ship before Christmas. There is also no info concerning carrier availability and potential rollout of the microSD-enabled One to other markets.

Is the Siren Series Returning to PlayStation 4?

A Romanian press release says it is. Update : Sony has responded to IGN's inquiry on the Siren listing. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that a new Siren is en route, after all. The listing for Siren was a mistake, it should have listed Rime. Siren was the working title name for Rime prior to its announcement at Gamescom 2013. Rime is the PS4 adventure game revealed this past summer. The original story is below. Do you remember the Siren series? The PlayStation-owned survival horror franchise debuted in Japan on PS2 in 2003, and was followed-up Siren 2 on PS2 in 2006 and Siren: Blood Curse on PS3 in 2008. Ever since then, the series went quiet as the developer that made it – Japan Studio sub-team Project Siren – went on to work on the PS Vita title Gravity Rush. But a Romanian press release -- via Gematsu -- indicates that Siren may be coming back. In a since-deleted statement in the release, it's noted that Siren will be coming to PlayStation

Is Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Coming to PS4?

Ratings board listings suggest it could be sooner than expected. Listings from the Korean and Brazilian ratings boards have mentioned a PS4 version of Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare, which was announced as a timed Xbox exclusive at E3 this year. The ratings - spotted by Gematsu and Eurogamer  - list the game on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. (Brazil rates it unsuitable for those under 10 and Korea went for PG, incidentally.) This suggests that the period of exclusivity might not be long at all. All our experiences of the cute-puzzler-turned-FPS have been very positive so far - our latest preview  ably elucidates its charms.

PS4 Review

Image
Better, Faster, Stronger.  Video game consoles have always struggled to keep up with rapid pace of innovation set forth by PCs, and more recently, mobile devices. In the last generation, the PlayStation 3 in particular was bound by proprietary processing technology and a rigid operating system that made software and new features arduous and costly to produce. The PlayStation 4 is the antithesis of the PS3. With powerful yet familiar processing architecture, a more open approach to software, and an impressive set of day-one features, the PS4 not only brings the PlayStation platform into a more modern era, but establishes a strong foundation for long-term evolution. The Console Jet black with sharp, angular edges and a blend of matte and high-gloss plastic, the PS4 distances itself from the curved lines found on th
