New Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Launching Next Month

Pre-orders for Samsung's latest stylus-equipped tablet start tomorrow.

Samsung's latest stylus-equipped 10-inch tablet, the Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition, will be available for pre-order in United States starting September 27th. Despite the odd naming convention — Samsung appears to be using the same year-labeling technique as automakers — you won't have to wait until next year to pick up the device, with the newest Note scheduled to launch in just a few weeks.

As reported by Engadget, the Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition is equipped with a 2560 x 1600 Super Clear LCD screen, Samsung's Exynos 5420 quad-core processor, and 3GB of RAM. True to the Note name, the included S Pen can be used for a variety of functions, like Air Command for quick access to shortcuts, Action Memo for note taking, and S Finder for universal search functionality. The tablet will come pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and Samsung's TouchWiz UI.
Starting October 10th, the Wi-Fi-only model of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 – 2014 Edition can be purchased in black or white, and will cost $549.99 for the 16GB version and $599.99 for 32GB — the new tablet also includes microSD card support, in case you were wondering.
Although the new Note costs more than Apple's iPad, and is considerably more expensive than the Nexus 10, Samsung is throwing in what they call "Galaxy Perks." Picking up with device will score you three months of Hulu Plus and SiriusXM for free, 50GB of Dropbox free for two years, and limited-time subscriptions to Bloomberg Businessweek and the New York Times.
