TGS: Playdeck and Vagrant Story Creator Announce Unsung Story Series

Yasumi Matsuno is creating a new fantasy world to be used for cross platform video games.

Digital tabletop developer Playdek announced a collaboration with legendary designer Yasumi Matsuno to create a fantasy game, called Untold Story: Tale of the Guardians.

Matsuno will be creating a medieval fantasy setting, called Rasfalia, a world of knights, wizards, archers and magical creatures which Playdek can develop games for.
Untold Story: Tale of the Guardians is a tactics style game that Matsuno will oversee in the future. A prequel card battle game set in the same universe, designed by French board game designer Christophe Boelinger, will be released in 2014.  The card battle game will introduce Rasfalia and can be played online between two players.
Most of Playdek's prior games are based on existing licenses, this will be one of their first new titles.
Matsuno is the designer of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Final Fantasy Tactics, Vagrant Story and contributed to Final Fantasy XII.

A new Meizu smartphone, alleged to be the Meizu m4, has leaked online. The leak - which comes in the form of a Weibo post- shows the device's images from TENAA, although the official TENAA listing for the phone doesn't seem to be live yet. Aside from images, the Weibo post also reveals some information about the device, including a metal body (with some plastic parts) and an RMB 899 (around $135) price tag. It also says that the phone doesn't feature a fingerprint sensor. Needless to say, none of this has been officially confirmed by Meizu. You can now give New Paint a spin (unofficially)

Perhaps as many of you, my image drawing and editing days started off on MS Paint. As you may have heard, Microsoft is completely revamping the app, giving it 3D capabilities. Twitter user Gustave M published the AppX file signed by Microsoft for the Windows Store, so it's easy to install (it only works on 64-bit devices, though). Find the download link in Gustave's tweet. I tried out the app quickly and drew this picture - okay, my artistic abilities are suspect and the app doesn't quite work right, but it has some powerful features. New Paint has a modern, tablet-friendly interface You can draw 3D shapes (couldn't find a way to do much with them, though) but my favorite feature is the 2D shapes. Watch Sony’s Fast Prototype Drone in Action

Maximum speed of 106 mph.  Sony publically tested a prototype of its speedy airplane-looking drone that the company plans on putting to use serving business customers. Looking like a chubby concorde, the VTOL takes off and lands vertically like a Harrier Jump Jet. It’s capable of flying for more than two hours with a top speed of 106 mph (170 kph) and can carry a load of up to 22 pounds (10 kg). Sony’s joint-venture drone company called Aerosense is developing the device as part of Sony’s strategy to expand into enterprise markets. Aerosense will cater to business by offering automatically piloted services such as inspecting infrastructure and surveying land. “By making it automated, drones will be considerably safer because many of accidents today are caused by human errors,” chief executive of Aerosense Hisashi Taniguchi said at a news conference, according to The Wall Street Journal. Sprint has announced the pricing and the availability details of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone on its network. The latest Galaxy S smartphone will cost $199 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a 2-year contract or $649 without any long-term commitment. The carrier is also offering the Easy Pay option for the Galaxy S5 and if you prefer to opt for it, then you will have to pay $27.09 a month for a period of two years, with $0 down. Sprint will also have the new Samsung Gear devices on sale. The Gear Fit wearable will cost $199.99, while the carrier is charging $199.99 and $299.99 for Gear 2 Neo and Gear 2 respectively. The first is a theme store where users can purchase additional themes for the keyboard, including the new Star Trek theme. Second, there is now an emoji drawer, which allows you to pick and choose all the system emoji. Other than that there is also support for two new languages, improved auto-correct, and bug fixes. Nokia X and XL benchmarks

Nokia X is a brand new platform but its app store felt acceptably full, considering it launched just a couple of days ago. There we found a couple of the usual benchmarks we run (there’s also the browser-based SunSpider) so we decided to find out how the Nokia X and XL stack up against the competition. The Nokia X prioritizes affordability over performance, Nokia made it clear that Lumia is its top performer. Still, the Moto G offers goodies like a quad-core processor (a Cortex-A7 no less) and a 720p screen, but it’s nearly double the price. The 4.5″ Moto G starts at €170, while the 4″ Nokia X and 5″ XL are €90 and €110 respectively.
