Microsoft Surface Pro 2 May Use Intel Haswell Processor, 8GB of RAM

Second generation Windows 8 tablet to feature considerable upgrades.

Microsoft's next Surface Pro tablet will feature at least a few considerable upgrades when it launches, possibly this fall around the release of Windows 8.1. According to NeoWin and WinSuperSite, the alleged Surface Pro 2 will be equipped with an improved processor, double the RAM, and a better battery than what is found in the current Surface Pro.
The Surface Pro 2 will reportedly utilize a 4th generation Intel Core i5 Haswell processor, 8GB of RAM, and is expected to last up to 7 hours on battery. In a separate report, NeoWin also suggests that a new Power Cover keyboard attachment will also be introduced, which includes a built-in battery to extend the life of the device even further. In our review of the original Surface Pro, battery life was particularly poor, so any improvements in that department are welcome.
The Surface Pro 2 is also said to use a "refined," two-position kickstand.
Pricing for the yet-to-be-announced Surface Pro 2 is still unknown, although it is expected to be in the same price range as the current model, which originally sold for $899.

Nvidia Launches GameStream, Adds Shield Button-Mapping

Shield updated to Android 4.3. If you're an owner of Nvidia's portable Shield gaming console, there's some fairly hefty announcements coming your way today. As IGN previously reported from an event in Montreal , GameStream--beaming compatible PC games from your GTX-ready rig to the Shield--has officially left beta. And on the Android side, the Shield's library of mobile games has expanded considerably. After its launch, the Shield was only compatible with a particular list of Android games. But starting today, Nvidia has launched the Shield Gamepad Mapper, allowing nearly any Android title to be converted to Shield's controller inputs. Nvidia will release button mapping profiles on a weekly basis via over-the-air updates, but it's also possible to set your own configurations and share them with friends. Microsoft Confirms Windows 8.1 is a Free Update

Still no confirmation of an exact release date. Last week, Microsoft admitted the company was at work on the first major update for Windows 8 , codenamed "Blue." Details were scarce at the time, but Microsoft CMO and CFO Tami Reller has now formally revealed the update as Windows 8.1 during JP Morgan's Technology, Media, & Telcom Conference, reports Engadget . Unfortunately, there's still no confirmation of a precise release date. Reller stated Windows 8.1 will launch as a free update to both the standard Windows 8 OS and its ARM-based RT cousin. According to Reller, the update will roll out sometime later this year. A public preview is still slated for June 26, during Microsoft's upcoming Build conference. Last week, Reller stated the forthcoming update would address "customer feedback" Microsoft had received for Windows 8 and Windows RT. HTC 10 is going official on April 12 but we know pretty much everything there is to know about company's next big thing. We know the design is a hybrid between the One M9 and One A9, we know about its Quad HD AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 820 chip, the possibility of a Snapdragon 652 model, its rumored retail price at €740, even the reported April 15 as a lunch date. HTC has begun a marketing campaign with teasers over the social networks, but the leaks are quite more revealing than HTC's hints. Today's leak show the black flavor of the HTC 10 shot next to its silver sibling. We've seen its metal chassis leak already in detail, though, and this gloomy shot only shows yet another view of the black version.
