EA Teases New Franchises, Insists it Takes Risks

EA has refuted the suggestion that the company always plays it safe by revealing it's working on between six and eight new franchises. 

Electronic Arts is reportedly working on between six and eight new franchises, according to the company's head of games.
Patrick Soderlund told MCV that the mega-publisher views taking risks as a necessity if it's to survive, so is working on these titles in addition to announced projects like Mirror's Edge 2 and Star Wars Battlefront.
"We are working on a new Mirror’s Edge game, and although that’s not a new IP, it is a revival done in a new way," he said. "We are developing Star Wars Battlefront, which to us is a new IP, even though it isn’t technically.
"We have six to eight completely new IPs in the works. The day we stop making new IP is when we go onto life support. We need to incubate new ideas and push creative boundaries."

EA announced both Mirror's Edge 2 and the long-awaited next entry in the Star Wars: Battlefront series at E3 this year, though release windows for either are yet to materialise.

Apple really wants developers to take the Touch Bar seriously

As we are sure most of you already heard, Apple finally brought an arguably overdue refresh to its Mac Pro laptop lineup on Thursday. It consists of a trio of new laptops, two in the 13-inch and on in the 15-inch form factor. Oppo confirms the Find 7 will have a 2K screen

The upcoming Oppo Find 7 is rumored to have a lot of cool specs, among which a 2K screen that's as big as 5.7". Oppo officially denied that the Find 7 will have a 5.7" screen (or a 7" one for that matter), but now the company is confirming the 2K resolution. The 2K resolution in question (there are several ) is probably QHD – no, not qHD, Q HD or Quad HD (4x 720p).
