Reaper of Souls Teased as First Diablo III Expansion

Nicely played, Blizzard.

Blizzard has launched a teaser site that suggests the first Diablo III expansion will be called 'Reaper of Souls.'
There's not much to see on the site so far, just an image of a gloomy entrance way behind the text “death, at last, shall spread its wings over all." The title is mentioned in the URL and has been trademarked at the bottom of the site.

It's an interesting twist in the story Blizzard is weaving, considering the publisher also recently trademarked 'The Dark Below,' which many assumed would be the name of the first Diablo III expansion. In light of this revelation though, does this mean 'The Dark Below' refers to the next World of Warcraft expansion? Players of the game have been fighting the Old Gods buried under Azeroth for over eight years; does this mean we'll soon be taking the fight to them?
Last month, Blizzard teased an announcement would be coming to next week's Gamescom press conference. The invite sent out to the press stated Blizzard would be "making a special announcement that's sure to capture the attention of the Heavens, Burning Hells and all the shadowed places that lie between." Based on that description, an official Diablo III expansion announcement seems likely.
We can only speculate then, that 'The Dark Below' will be another World of Warcraft expansion...or something else entirely.
Stay tuned to IGN next week for all of the news out of Blizzard's press conference and Gamescom, which runs from August 21-25 in Cologne, Germany.
