Nvidia Has No Knowledge of GTA V on PC

Nvidia slips up.

In a statement this morning, Nvidia has said that the below statement on its investor call was made in error.
"This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA," it reads. "NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error."

Grand Theft Auto V will release for PC this Fall, according to Nvidia senior director of Investor Relations Chris Evenden, who included the game in the list of upcoming PC games at the company's earnings call today.
Evenden outlined the growth of specialty PCs, stating that gamers were "preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV."
It is possible that Nvidia made the claim in error or simply based it on the assumption that all GTA games eventually release for the PC, rather than the company knowing anything about an impending release.
Rockstar is continuing to keep mum on the subject, even despite the increasing vocality from fans with a petition that has crossed 300,000 signatures.
The company has previously been slow in bringing its releases to the PC, with GTA IV releasing a good eight months after the game's console release, and Red Dead Redemption never even receiving a port. It is understandable why Rockstar is deliberating on a PC version, though. Both GTA IV and L.A.Noire (its Team Bondi-developed crime-thriller) suffered from serious performance issues on the PC, and Rockstar could simply be looking for ways to do the job right.
For now, the team is preparing to reveal GTA Online on August 15. IGN will have all the updates from the event, so stay tuned!
GTA V is slated to arrive on September 17 for Xbox 360 and PS3.
