BLU Pure XR becomes official, has 4GB of RAM and costs $299.99
The Pure XR handset that BLU teased a couple of weeks or so ago is now official. Not only that, but the device is already on sale at Amazon and Best Buy, priced at $299.99 unlocked.
So what do you get for that amount of cash? A 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED touchscreen, a 16 MP rear camera with phase detection and laser autofocus and LED flash, an 8 MP selfie shooter, MediaTek's Helio P10 chipset at the helm (with a 2 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T860 GPU), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a fingerprint scanner, LTE Cat.6 support, and a 3,000 mAh battery. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Its dimensions are 154.3 x 74.9 x 7 mm, and it weighs 147g.
It's available in gold and grey, and there are no unsightly plastic bits in its full metal body. The display has 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3 on top. Apple-like 3D Touch functionality is provided, and the bundled charger is a 9V/2A unit (so 18W) with quick charging up to 50% from 0 in 30 minutes.
So now that the full specs are out our initial assumption that this was a rebranded Gionee S8 has become certainty. The two phones look the same, have the same specs, and even the exact same dimensions.
