Tizen-powered Samsung Z9 flagship spotted in shipping documents

Samsung has really been investing heftily in the advancement of Tizen. The still exotic OS is currently powering most of the company's accessories, including the smartwatch lineup and has only made a slow and quite restrained appearance on mobile with the Galaxy Z1, Z3 and likely soon the Z2 as well.
This laid-back introduction tempo appears to be absolutely intentional, as the Korean giant is still probing the potential market, while constantly improving and growing Tizen in the background. Now, a newly discovered leak shows signs of some major upcoming developments in the Tizen realm. A handset with a model number SM-Z930F was spotted entering India in a Zauba document, which clearly hints at an imminent Galaxy Z9 release.
It will likely be the first flagship device to run Tizen and truly show off its potential. If the Z9 moniker and quoted price (five times that of the Z2) are any indication, the Z9 should be considerably more powerful than the current top-tier Tizen Z3 with its 720p resolution and Spreadtrum SC7730.
As far as we currently know, the Samsung Z2 should arrive by the end of the moth and will offer users a quad-core 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 3.97-inch or 4.5-inch display, 5MP main camera and 1,500mAh or 2,000mAh battery.
We doubt that Samsung will release the alleged flagship within the same timeframe, so there is likely still some waiting to be done.

Future Nokias may have Carl Zeiss optics, but HMD is playing coy

Long before Huawei partnered with a legendary German camera brand, Nokia put Carl Zeiss-branded lenses on its phones. A recent Tweet led people to believe that partnership will not carry over to the HMD-made phones, but now there’s a glimmer of hope. It turns out that was a mistake - the tweet only meant that the current Nokias (6, 5 and 3) do not have Zeiss optics, not that new phones definitely will not have them. Of course, that’s not the same as confirming that they will, even though the tweet ends with a tantalizing “stay tuned”. New rumor suggests OnePlus 3T will be cheaper in China

When the OnePlus 3T was announced last week, its US and European pricing information was revealed - the device will carry $439 and $479 price tag for the 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively, in the US, while in the EU the prices will be €439 and €479, respectively. Now, a new rumor has revealed the expected price tag the handset will carry in China. According to the rumor, the 64GB variant of the phone is expected to cost RMB 2,799 (around $405), while the 128GB model will set you back RMB 3,299 (around $480). The report adds that there's a possibility that the company might bring down the price of the 128GB variant to RMB 3,199 (around $465). MIUI 8 to arrive alongside Mi Max on May 10, Xiaomi confirms

We already know that the Xiaomi Mi Max - which is said to sport a mammoth 6.4-inch FullHD display - will be unveiled on May 10. However, turns out that Xiaomi will make a couple of more announcements that day - the company has confirmed that the next major iteration of its MIUI ROM as well as the Mi Band 2 will also be unveiled on May 10. "Evolving from the first version in 2010, MIUI has served as the operating system for over 150 million across the globe," a post on MIUI forum said. "On May 10, we will introduce you MIUI 8, with the features you always wanted and new designs beyond your imagination." Flipkart teases upcoming Moto E, will go on sale on May 14

We practically know everything about the Motorola Moto E now. The company's newest Android smartphone is expected to slow below the already low-priced Moto G. Indian online retailer Flipkart, which has exclusive rights to sell the Moto G and Moto X in India, has now started teasing the Moto E on their social media accounts. The teaser images don't mention the name but the outline of the phone matches all the leaked images we have seen. Flipkart is also suggesting replacing low-end feature phones with the Moto E, indicating a very low price point. The website says '4 days to go for the new Moto', meaning the phone will go on sale on May 14, even if the actual launch is on May 13. Last week, there were reports that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature facial recognition technology, which will be used to unlock the phone. Now, a new report is suggesting that the tech will be used for mobile payments as well.
