LG keeps teasing the V20, brags about excellent audio quality

LG seems to be going all out for the upcoming V20. The Korean OEM has already scheduled a 4-day event in San Francisco on September 6 and another one in Seoul the day after. With all the fanfare and attention, LG really needs to make sure the V20 lives up to the hype and doesn't fall short of fan expectations.
It is way too early to pass judgment on that point, but it is obvious that the company is trying its best to come through. One of the key points of the LG V20's upcoming marketing campaign will definitely be high-quality audio experience. A couple of weeks ago, we first heard a rumor that the V20 might actually be the first smartphone to offer a 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This sounds a lot more plausible after LG officially revealed some extra details on the topic today.
Apparently, the Korean giant has been working with B&O PLAY to perfect the audio experience on the V20. If you are not familiar with B&O PLAY, it has a long history of producing really high-end portable audio products and headphones as part of Bang & Olufsen.
LG and B&O PLAY worked closely together to bring the best sound to users by optimizing the audio capabilities of the V20 smartphone. To enhance the total experience, the V20 set will include a special pair of B&O PLAY earphones and a set of wallpapers designed for V20 which includes the official logo of B&O PLAY, as a certification of B&O PLAY premium audio.
Despite the lack of any specific information on DAC technology, the teaser does sound very encouraging.

Future Nokias may have Carl Zeiss optics, but HMD is playing coy

Long before Huawei partnered with a legendary German camera brand, Nokia put Carl Zeiss-branded lenses on its phones. A recent Tweet led people to believe that partnership will not carry over to the HMD-made phones, but now there’s a glimmer of hope. It turns out that was a mistake - the tweet only meant that the current Nokias (6, 5 and 3) do not have Zeiss optics, not that new phones definitely will not have them. Of course, that’s not the same as confirming that they will, even though the tweet ends with a tantalizing “stay tuned”. New rumor suggests OnePlus 3T will be cheaper in China

When the OnePlus 3T was announced last week, its US and European pricing information was revealed - the device will carry $439 and $479 price tag for the 64GB and 128GB variants, respectively, in the US, while in the EU the prices will be €439 and €479, respectively. Now, a new rumor has revealed the expected price tag the handset will carry in China. According to the rumor, the 64GB variant of the phone is expected to cost RMB 2,799 (around $405), while the 128GB model will set you back RMB 3,299 (around $480). The report adds that there's a possibility that the company might bring down the price of the 128GB variant to RMB 3,199 (around $465). MIUI 8 to arrive alongside Mi Max on May 10, Xiaomi confirms

We already know that the Xiaomi Mi Max - which is said to sport a mammoth 6.4-inch FullHD display - will be unveiled on May 10. However, turns out that Xiaomi will make a couple of more announcements that day - the company has confirmed that the next major iteration of its MIUI ROM as well as the Mi Band 2 will also be unveiled on May 10. "Evolving from the first version in 2010, MIUI has served as the operating system for over 150 million across the globe," a post on MIUI forum said. "On May 10, we will introduce you MIUI 8, with the features you always wanted and new designs beyond your imagination." Flipkart teases upcoming Moto E, will go on sale on May 14

We practically know everything about the Motorola Moto E now. The company's newest Android smartphone is expected to slow below the already low-priced Moto G. Indian online retailer Flipkart, which has exclusive rights to sell the Moto G and Moto X in India, has now started teasing the Moto E on their social media accounts. The teaser images don't mention the name but the outline of the phone matches all the leaked images we have seen. Flipkart is also suggesting replacing low-end feature phones with the Moto E, indicating a very low price point. The website says '4 days to go for the new Moto', meaning the phone will go on sale on May 14, even if the actual launch is on May 13. Report: Galaxy S8's facial recognition tech will be used for mobile payments

Last week, there were reports that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will feature facial recognition technology, which will be used to unlock the phone. Now, a new report is suggesting that the tech will be used for mobile payments as well.
