Samsung and LG Unveil the First 105-inch Curved 4K Televisions

The long-time rivals are back at it again with the "first" and "most curved" TVs of their kind.

Two of the biggest rivals in the television market are at it again, with Samsung and LG unveiling new, 105-inch curved 4K teleivisons. Both companies are claiming to be the first to achieve such a feat, although Samsung says that its entry is the "most curved" of its kind as well.

The specs of both televisions are largely similar, with the UHD TVs sporting a resolution of 5,120 x 2,160, 11 million pixels, and a 21:9 aspect ratio. Both also use LED LCD panels.

Samsung's monstrous television will feature a "Quadmatic Picture Engine" for 4K upscaling, and, according to Digital Trends, will likely include Samsung's S Recommendation system, gesture control, and voice recognition. LG's 105UC9 model 4K television uses refined Thin Film Transistor pixel curcuit technology to keep color leakage at a minimum and provide greater viewing angles.
Price and availability for both televisions have yet to be announced, but there is no doubt that these will be extremely high priced products. We'll be at CES to stare at both behemoths, so make sure to stay tuned to IGN to hear more about the world's first curved 105-inch 4K televisions—one of which may be curvier than the other.
