Huawei Ascend Mate 2 pictures leak

Someone's been snapping some pictures of Huawei's upcoming Mate 2 handset, and it being 2013, the photos ended up online. Although the shots are taken from less than ideal angles, they give a pretty good impression of the Mate 2's aesthetics.
The original Huawei Ascend Mate is an enormous device with a 6.1 inch screen, so expect the Mate 2 to continue this trend of phablet gigantism.

We can gather from these leaked Mate 2 pics that Huawei has decided to make some nice cosmetic changes. The device has a curved posterior, akin to the Moto X. Huawei's also given a brushed metal trim to frame the device. Overall, this phone is looking fairly attractive.
Hardware specs are nothing but rumors now, but expect the same 6.1 inch display with a possible bump up to 1080p resolution. Under the hood it seems that a 1.6 GHz quad core processor with 2GB of RAM is likely.
No word has been made on whether or not the Ascend Mate 2 will be available outside of China, but we sure hope so. We'll keep you updated on any further developments.

Google Maps now has a bottom bar for real-time traffic and transit info

Google Maps is becoming more and more driving-friendly with latest updates. Lately we told you about some updates that brought parking availability on Android and Popular Times’ evolution into real-time data on iOS. But now this information will be even more accessible for you - Google is placing the Transit and Traffic buttons on a bottom bar, instead of the menu that has to be pulled from the left side. 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners can test drive Android Marshmallow

This way for the Marshmallow trial. Sony's Concept for Android initiative will allow 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact owners to beta test Android's new major version. The new software is built on feedback Sony received from the initiative launched earlier this year. If you want in, you'll have to check in with the Concept Sign-up app . It's first come, first serve so there's an element of urgency. Note that the test is limited to select European countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Ireland or Germany. Original TV Shows Landing on Xbox in Early 2014

Halo series could launch soon. During an industry breakfast in Los Angeles, Microsoft's president of entertainment and digital, Nancy Tellem, said the planned original TV programming for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One will tentatively launch in early 2014. According to Variety , Tellem acknowledged the process to get the new shows on Xbox consoles has been "slower" than expected. G4 bootloops are caused by hardware issue, LG vows to repair affected units

Many owners of the LG G4 have complained about a bootloop issue, but so far without receiving any assistance whatsoever from the Korean smartphone maker. Well, that's finally changed. LG has now acknowledged the bootloop issue, and after a thorough investigation has concluded that a hardware problem is to blame. Specifically, the bootloops are caused by a "loose contact between components". The company has vowed to fix the problem for affected devices, with no additional cost for its customers of course. It turns out that the G4 units experiencing this are not from one particular retail partner - they can be among those sold by carriers, or third-parties.
