Rockstar Renews Agent Trademarks
Maybe it isn't vapourware after all?
Rockstar has renewed two trademarks tied to its long-absent PlayStation 3-exclusive Agent.First spotted by Siliconera, the pair of trademarks refer to both the name of the game and its logo, which includes "the shape of a handgun comprising the internal section of the letter 'G'".
The renewal of the trademarks is the first indication for some time that the project hasn't become vapourware. First announced at E3 in 2009, the game was meant to be set in the late 1970's with a focus on espionage gameplay that Sony's Jack Tretton said at the time would have a similar impact to Grand Theft Auto.
Following this, nothing was heard until May 2011 when it was revealed the game was both still in development and a PS3-exclusive. The first images for the game leaked a few months later, though Rockstar never commented on them. Since then, nothing has been heard of the title.
We've reached out to Rockstar and will update the story with any response we receive.
