Weekend poll: IFA 2014 most anticipated device

FA 2014 is just around the corner and we’re pretty excited about what’s to come. In this week’s poll we’re reaching out to you to find out which devices get you buzzing.

There’s a lot to come at IFA 2014 in Berlin, but we’ve handpicked six smartphones that we think will be the mobile highlight of the show. The Nokia Lumia 730 and Lumia 830 are representing the Windows Phone OS, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Huawei Ascend Mate 7, Sony Xperia Z3 and Asus Zenphone 2 are under the Android flag.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is among the most anticipated Android smartphones of the year. Samsung sold over 5 million Note 3′s in its first month, so the stakes for its successor are high. The phablet has an outside chance of comingin two shapes and sizes – with a regular 5.7″ Super AMOLED QHD screen and a three-sided YOUM display. The latter is going to be called the Galaxy Note Edge.
Next up are the Lumia 730 and Lumia 830, representing the mid-range Windows Phone spectrum. The Lumia 730 will feature a Snapdragon 400 chipset with 1GB RAM and 8GB of built-in storage and an 8MP camera. Its upper-class friend is more interesting with a 20MP PureView camera and a 4.5″ 720p display. Other than that, its internals are pretty much the same as the Lumia 730.
The Sony Xperia Z3 allegedly keeps the 5.2″ IPS LCD with 1080p resolution of its predecessor, but is a bit smaller and thinner. The chipset has been bumped up slightly to the AC version of Snapdragon 801 and the RAM is still 3GB.
As for the Huawei Ascend Mate 7, we’re in for a wild ride. The phone will offer a fingerprint sensor at the back in addition to the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 920 chipset (octa-core big.LITTLE architecture). The phone will also debut with Huawei’s new EmotionUI 3.0.
As for the Asus Zenfone 2, it’s a complete mystery what we can expect. There haven’t been any leaks or rumors regarding it, which leaves us to wait for the company’s press conference on September 3.
Now, it’s time for you to choose the device which excites you the most about the upcoming expo.
We’ll be sharing the results a week from now, so happy voting!
