LG has 'No Plans' for Curved G Flex Smartphone Beyond Korea

Argentinian photographer given access to OLED handset.

Earlier this month, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Round; a curved OLED smartphone with unique functions tied to its rocking center axis. And its was only a matter of days until rumors began circulating about the LG G Flex, which also featured a curved display, albeit in a different direction. Unfortunately--for the time being--it doesn't seem like either smartphone is leaving the shores of South Korea any time soon.

The Verge attained access to a number of photographs of the purported LG G Flex, thanks to Argentinian broadcaster Telefe and journalist Federico Ini. More than just renders, these photographs show a real-life prototype of the unannounced curved OLED smartphone. The G Flex appears to have a 6-inch display, with a slight curve almost mimicking the natural slope of the human face from ear to mouthpiece. Reportedly, the G Flex includes a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.
But much like the Samsung Galaxy Round, the G Flex may never see life outside of South Korea. LG has no release plans for the G Flex in North America, Europe, or South America, Federico Ini told The Verge. The curved LG smartphone may release in South Korea in November.
