Samsung Galaxy S8+ with S835 benchmarked on Geekbench

A Samsung Galaxy S8+ powered by a MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 chipset has been spotted on Geekbench sporting the model number SM-G955U.
The device has 4GB of RAM and is running Android 7.0 Nougat. The score it got is similar to what we've seen from the Snapdragon 835 and stacks up nicely compared to the current crop of tested devices.

GeekBench 4 (multi-core)

Higher is better
  • Huawei Mate 9 6112
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus (S835) 6084
  • Apple iPhone 7 Plus 5664
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (E8890) 5583
  • OnePlus 3T 4364
  • LG G6 4209
  • Google Pixel XL 4152
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (S820) 4128

GeekBench 4 (single-core)

Higher is better
  • Apple iPhone 7 Plus 3473
  • Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus (S835) 1929
  • Huawei Mate 9 1898
  • OnePlus 3T 1890
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (E8890) 1860
  • LG G6 1733
  • Samsung Galaxy S7 edge (S820) 1696
  • Google Pixel XL 1507
The multi-core performance in particular is impressive. In the single-core test Apple's A10 chip rules supreme, as usual.
Samsung is expected to show off the Galaxy S8 at the end of the month - March 29 - and we can hardly wait to run it under our review gauntlet.
Thanks for the tip, René Dekker!
