Samsung Galaxy Alpha confirmed to sport a 720p display

If you ever thought that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be a high-end smartphone, then you might want to reconsider that.
Samsung Galaxy Alpha will indeed feature a premium metallic design, but it doesn’t look like the smartphone will come out with high-end hardware. According to a Samsung developer console, the Galaxy Alpha will sport a 720p display, which is similar to what the company’s third-generation Galaxy Ssmartphone that was launched two years ago had.
Apart from confirming the screen resolution, the document also confirms the naming scheme of the device. The smartphone will be officially named Galaxy Alpha and not as Galaxy S5 Alpha as suggested by a few reports.
For now, we know that the Galaxy Alpha will feature a 4.8-inch display, 32GB non-expandable memory, a fingerprint scanner and a nano SIM slot.
Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Alpha in August, a couple of weeks before it unveils itsnext generation Galaxy Note phablet.
