Opera will be the default browser on the Nokia X phones

Opera has a long-standing partnership with Nokia to provide a browser for its phones – it used to be Opera Mini on Series 40 nowadays it’s the full-fledged Opera Mobile on the Nokia X platform (Nokia’s premium WP platform is of course serviced by IE).

Opera will be the default browser on Nokia X phones, starting with the new Nokia X2, and it’s available for free download for current X owners.
Opera is now based on Blink – Google’s fork of WebKit – but adds Opera’s traditional strengths including Turbo (which compresses web pages before sending them to the phone) and Speed Dial (which pioneered the thumbnail bookmarks on the new tab page). There’s also the Discover features, which finds fresh content sorted by country and topic.
Opera is available for the regular Google-flavored Android, too.

Future Nokias may have Carl Zeiss optics, but HMD is playing coy

Image
Long before Huawei partnered with a legendary German camera brand, Nokia put Carl Zeiss-branded lenses on its phones. A recent Tweet led people to believe that partnership will not carry over to the HMD-made phones, but now there’s a glimmer of hope. It turns out that was a mistake - the tweet only meant that the current Nokias (6, 5 and 3) do not have Zeiss optics, not that new phones definitely will not have them. Of course, that’s not the same as confirming that they will, even though the tweet ends with a tantalizing “stay tuned”. If Zeiss does partner up with Nokia/HMD, the first child of that union will likely be the upcoming powerhouse of a phone scheduled for June. Source | Via
