Google launches Android One smartphone program

The first news of this year's Google I/O is a new initiative that the company calls Android One. The smartphone program strives to provide a unified feature set tailored-made for the market the phone is launching in.

 The first smartphone to be part of the Android One comes from Micromax, one of the most popular smartphone brands in India. Its Android One smartphone packs features that are most important for users there. Those are FM Radio, Dual SIM support, microSD card and a low price.

 The Micromax smartphone from Android One will cost under $100 - cheaper than the Motorola Moto E. The new smartphone also packs a 4.5" display, but Sundar Pichai didn't specify neither its resolution, nor further specifications.
The Android One program guarantees that the phones that come out of it will run on the most recent Android release, as Google will push updates to those phones similar to the way it handles GPE devices.

 Sundar Pichai shared that besides Micromax, phone makers Spice and Karbonn are also taking part in Android One.

Galaxy A9 Pro international variant is now Bluetooth certified

The Samsung SM-A910F - which is alleged to be the international variant of the Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100) - has now received certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), indicating an imminent launch. This comes just a few weeks after the handset (both standard and dual-SIM models) received Wi-Fi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA). Prior to that, the phone was spotted on India's import/export tracking website Zauba. Sadly, pricing and availability details of the Samsung SM-A910F aren't yet known. Opera Max celebrates 50 million Android users with VIP mode

Opera announced that their data-saving app Opera Max reached 50 million active users. Along with that it updated the app which now has VIP mode for unlimited data savings and privacy. Opera was always aiming to compress the web. With their Opera Max free VPN application you are able to lower your data usage when browsing and streaming audio and video. The only requirement is to tap a button every 12 hours to lengthen you data-saving experience. Surgeon Simulator for iPad is a port of the popular game that was released on Steam last year. Although the game claims to be a simulator, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. How to Use PS4 Remote Play

PlayStation Vita Remote Play allows PS4 users to play console games through their PS Vita. After updating software on both platforms to the most recent firmware, you will find a new prompt on the PS Vita that states "PS4 Link". Clicking on this will search for an active PlayStation 4 in proximity range.  You must allow your PS4 and Vita to link up first, however.
