Samsung Pay will work on the Gear S3 even if you don't have a Samsung phone

Now that Samsung's Gear S3 (in both classic and frontier versions) is finally starting to become available across the world, some more details about it are trickling in. An intriguing fact has to do with Samsung Pay, and how it's supported on the Gear S3.
According to Samsung, you're able to use Samsung Pay on the Gear S3 even if you don't have a Samsung phone paired to the smartwatch (if the one that you do have runs Android 4.4 KitKat or newer). That's certainly surprising, given that so far the Samsung Pay app has been limited to Samsung devices. Then again, the company's latest wearables do work with any other Android handsets, so this makes some sense.
Unfortunately we don't yet know exactly how this will work. Will you have to enter your credit card details on the watch? Will there be a special app that you'll be able to install on your non-Samsung phone to make this work? Will Samsung allow installation of its Samsung Pay app on devices that it hasn't manufactured? Are both NFC and MST payments going to be supported on the Gear S3 if it's paired to a non-Samsung smartphone? There's currently no definitive answer to any of these questions. What's clear is that this doesn't mean you'll be able to make purchases through Samsung Pay on a non-Samsung handset - it will just work on the watch, regardless of what device it's connected to.

Microsoft has made yet another app for Android, this time a keyboard. The Microsoft Hub Keyboard looks like a simple keyboard at first but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. The documents feature lets you login to your Office 365 account and paste the URL of the files by typing their names. Galaxy A9 Pro international variant is now Bluetooth certified

The Samsung SM-A910F - which is alleged to be the international variant of the Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100) - has now received certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), indicating an imminent launch. This comes just a few weeks after the handset (both standard and dual-SIM models) received Wi-Fi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA). Prior to that, the phone was spotted on India's import/export tracking website Zauba. Sadly, pricing and availability details of the Samsung SM-A910F aren't yet known. iPhone SE teardown shows hardware ranging from iPhone 5 to 6s

The Apple iPhone SE is a 6s in a 5s body, but Chipworks dug into the internals and it turns out the story is more complicated than that. It straddles multiple generations - from the iPhone 5 selfie camera to the iPhone 6s chipset, a whopping four generations. The Apple A9 chipset is brand new and the SK Hynix-made LPDDR4 2GB memory matches the 6s as well. The NFC, audio chips and motion sensor are from that generation as well. The storage appears to be from the 6s as well, but an earlier 19nm chip instead of the 15nm being shipped now. The Qualcomm modem from the earlier iPhone 6 model while the touchscreen controller goes back to the iPhone 5s. 12.2-inch version of the Lenovo Yoga Book with Android shows up at Amazon priced at just $299.99

At IFA last year, Lenovo turned some heads with its Yoga Book, a 2-in-1 laptop / tablet hybrid that doesn't have an actual physical keyboard. Instead, its so-called Halo Keyboard is flat and doubles as a writing surface, complete with predictive input and autocorrect functionality. So far the Yoga Book has been available with a 10.2-inch 1080p touchscreen, running either Windows or Android. A model with Chrome OS on board is coming this year, but also a bigger one too. While the Chrome OS Yoga Book has been confirmed by Lenovo already, a 12.2-inch Yoga Book has been listed by Amazon without any proper official introduction. It's not available yet, but it does have a price: $299.99 running Android. That's oddly cheaper than what the 10-inch Yoga Book costs with Google's OS, namely $499. HTC One (M8) for Windows now available on Amazon for $50

Verizon's HTC One (M8) for Windows is now available for purchase at Amazon US. It costs just $49.99 with a two-year contract. You can get the contract-free (but Verizon-branded) model for $599.99. The smartphone went official a week ago as a Verizon exclusive. Its hardware absolutely identical with its Android-powered sibling - the HTC One (M8) flagship, but runs on Windows Phone 8.1. As we already know n the HTC One (M8) for Windows will be a limited time exclusive, as AT&T has already confirmed it will be selling it later this year. Today various reports suggest the phone is coming to T-Mobile and Sprint, too.
