Samsung might be looking for a new fingerprint sensor supplier

Fingerprint readers have become a wide-spread feature in smartphones, with even the lower-end reaching towards it.
Previously we heard whispers of a widespread fingerprint reader roll-out across Samsung's device family and now industry sources are claiming that the Korean giant has begun to actively source reader modules.
Currently this particular part of the biometric security market is more or less split up between FPC out of Sweden and the US-based Synaptics. However, there are other smaller vendors out there and sources now say Samsung might be in talks with a local Korean company to procure as many as 2 million units.
This could potentially shift things around in the fingerprint hardware niche. Not to mention, it will lessen Samsung's dependability on the aforementioned major vendors.
