4K content rolls out in Google Play Movies

Google has started rolling out 4K content in Google Play Movies, as was promised back when the company announced the Chromecast Ultra.
For select movies, you will be able to purchase or rent them in 4K resolution. The prices are higher than the SD version but not significantly so.
4K content so far is seemingly limited to Chromecast Ultra and Android TVs with 4K support. If you’re on a smartphone or web browser then you will be limited to HD resolution.
The 4K option is rolling out slowly across regions and accounts.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Review

Image
Impressively, it's exactly the same game on Wii U and 3DS - but is it worth your time on either? Every time a new Monster Hunter games comes out, I think: surely, I must be done with this now. After several hundred hours over at least three versions, I’m not going to get sucked in again. But I do, every time. It's because Monster Hunter’s world is so absorbing, and the gentle rhythm of prepare, hunt, and collect is so innately satisfying. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the slickest game in the series to date, and it’s an ideal introduction to the hugely enjoyable business of cooperative monster-slaying. Regardless of your or our personal opinion on the new tech and the respective willingness to look at the keyboard, rather than the screen in order to take advantage of some of th...

Oppo confirms the Find 7 will have a 2K screen

The upcoming Oppo Find 7 is rumored to have a lot of cool specs, among which a 2K screen that's as big as 5.7". Oppo officially denied that the Find 7 will have a 5.7" screen (or a 7" one for that matter), but now the company is confirming the 2K resolution. The 2K resolution in question (there are several ) is probably QHD – no, not qHD, Q HD or Quad HD (4x 720p). That's 2,560 x 1,440. #Find5 was the world’s first smartphone with a 5” 1080p display. #Find7 is taking it one step further. #AlwaysImprove pic.twitter.com/gSYadlgOrl — OPPO (@oppo) December 17, 2013 Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 805 chipset and 3GB RAM to handle the massive resolution. Despite the several official confirmations from Oppo, the company is yet to announce when the Find 7 will be unveiled. Oppo missed the opportunity to launch the first 1080p phone (despite what the tweet says, HTC beat it with the Butterfly by a month) and now history might repeat it...
