Oppo A57 gets announced in China with 13 MP selfie camera

While it still hasn't decided whether the high-end Find 9 will ever be a real thing, Oppo is on the other hand constantly launching new midrangers. Case in point: the new Oppo A57, just unveiled for the Chinese market.
The smartphone comes with that unmistakable Oppo look, dressed in a gold or rose gold all-metal casing, with 2.5D curved glass on top of its 5.2-inch 720p touchscreen. Its main camera is a 13 MP unit with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and a LED flash, while taking care of selfies is a 16 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12nm pixels.
It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset, which has a 1.4 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 processor and the Adreno 505 GPU. It's aided by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of expandable storage. The A57 has LTE support and a 2,900 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow underneath Oppo's ColorOS 3.0. Its dimensions are 149.1 x 72.9 x 7.65 mm, and it weighs 147g.
It will become available in China on December 12 for CNY 1,599, which right now means $231 or €218. As usual with Oppo products, it's unclear if the A57 will ever officially be sold elsewhere.
