Huawei to unveil Honor 5X Play on October 10

In just a few days Huawei is apparently set to announce a new dirt cheap Honor-branded smartphone. This will be the new member of the Play family, which so far has included the cheapest Honor handsets. It will be called Honor 5X Play (or a variation of this, such as Honor Play 5X).
Huawei has officially announced that it's holding an event on October 10, which will be all about a youth-focused phone. And since both previous Play offerings were also youth-oriented, it seems very likely that the Honor 5X Play will be the star of the show.
The phone has already been certified for sale in China by TENAA, and through that process most of its specs have been made public. Thus, the Honor 5X Play will come with a 5-inch 720p touchscreen, a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, a 5 MP front snapper, MediaTek's MT6735 SoC with 1.3 GHz quad-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage, and a big 4,000 mAh battery.
It will run Android 5.1 Lollipop underneath Huawei's own Emotion UI skin. Its dimensions are 143.1 x 71.8 x 9.7 mm, it weighs 159g, has 4G LTE support and dual-SIM functionality. It's expected to be sold for around CNY 999, which is $157 or €140 at the current exchange rates.

Garmin Vivofit Jr. tracks your kid's activity and motivates it along the way

Garmin has announced a new fitness tracker for children aged four to nine, and it's called the Vivofit Jr. Along with its functions as an activity tracker, Garmin also boasts it as a motivator since its aim is to help inactive kids create new and healthy habits. The Vivofit Jr. has a one-year of battery life, as well as water resistance, sleep monitoring and step counting. It also comes in a bunch of interesting looking designs. Garmin bundles the activity tracker with a free app, which is compatible with iOS and Android. It has a "mobile adventure trail", which helps the child move about for a 60-minute daily goal. The color options you see above are digi camo, real flower and broken lava but plain black and purple strike will also be available. Nvidia Launches GameStream, Adds Shield Button-Mapping

Shield updated to Android 4.3. If you're an owner of Nvidia's portable Shield gaming console, there's some fairly hefty announcements coming your way today. As IGN previously reported from an event in Montreal , GameStream--beaming compatible PC games from your GTX-ready rig to the Shield--has officially left beta. And on the Android side, the Shield's library of mobile games has expanded considerably. After its launch, the Shield was only compatible with a particular list of Android games. But starting today, Nvidia has launched the Shield Gamepad Mapper, allowing nearly any Android title to be converted to Shield's controller inputs. OnePlus One tops Galaxy S5, One (M8) in AnTuTu 4

OnePlus continues to tease its first phone called the One. The maker has revealed it will use the Snapdragon MSM8974AC chipset – the one with Krait 400 @ 2.5GHz – and 3GB RAM for its debut handset. OnePlus released a screenshot of an AnTuTu 4 score, which tops all current flagships. This is the cumulative score, it doesn’t show the separate CPU and 3D scores that the device achieved, but they should be on par or better than any other Android on the market right now (or in the near future).
