Here Maps becomes Here WeGo, improved navigation options debut

Today the service formerly known as Here Maps has rebranded into Here WeGo. The new name is already live for its Android mobile app, and will come to the Web-based version of the service and the iOS app soon.
The new name was chosen to put an emphasis on Here's navigation abilities. Furthermore, from this point on when you enter a destination into the search field in the app you're taken straight to choosing your desired transport mode. Once you tap on that navigation starts. This more direct mode of getting going is supposed to save you time when you use the app. There's no more extra tap on that 'find a route' icon at the bottom.
The new Route Comparison screen has received a redesign, with a lighter colored background. New features are in too. In certain cities, you'll be able to choose renting a car from the Car2Go sharing service as a means of transport. Furthermore, in "many cities" you can get taxi information for your route, including the approximate fare amount and wait time. There's a handy call button too which you can tap if you do decide to take a cab. More car sharing and taxi companies will be added in the future.
Finally, bicycle routing has been improved, now taking into account the elevation differences on your suggested routes, so you can also judge them by the effort required. All of the new functionality is live in the latest versions of the Here apps for Android and iOS.
