7-Eleven fulfilled its first drone delivery with donuts, coffee, and Slurpees

In Reno, Nevada, convenient store 7-Eleven has successfully fulfilled its first drone-delivered order of coffee, Slurpees, a chicken sandwich, and donuts to a family’s home.
The store teamed up with Flirtey, a drone startup who designs, builds, and programs its own self-made drones. It also designs special packaging for items that are to be delivered by drone.
According to CFO of 7-Eleven, the company plans to offer drone delivery service on a wider scale in the future. However, there was no comment as to when this particular service would actually launch.
It couldn’t be anytime too soon, though, as the FAA (U.S. Federal Aviation Administration) is expected to research and create new rules for un-manned aircrafts being flown over US soil before thousands of automated buzzing drones start fulfilling your Amazon Prime order of a 30-pack of whitening strips and a 10-foot LED Lightning cable.
The future is basically here, and there are drones in it. What do you think? Would you order a drone delivery from your local convenience store? Would you care there were other drones flying over your house?
