First official Galaxy Note7 ad is out, confirms a bunch of things
The first official TV ad for the Galaxy Note7 has been posted online by Samsung Mobile's Korean division. Even if we do know most of the details already, it's nice to get some confirmation from the maker itself.
For one, it will be the Galaxy Note7, and not the Note6, which was hinted in the launch event announcement (7 Unpacked), as well as shown in a number of leaked images of bootscreens."5, then 6?" followed by a "No" leaves little doubt, even if you had any after the dedicated press release on the matter.
Close-ups of fingerprints and various phone unlocking methods seem overly prominent, especially in the first seconds of the video. Not that fingerprint recognition is anything new on a smartphone, obviously, with even budget-minded midrangers having such sensors. However, some figured that with the introduction of the iris scanner, scanning your digits would become obsolete.
A few old phones tumbling in the water is more than enough to count as confirmation of the Note7's waterproofing, in our book at least. There's additionally a selfie shooting moment, where the girl uses a lamp to serve as fill flash, and that's one we can't really decode.
