5.7-inch LG Stylus 2 Plus unveiled in Taiwan

LG has announced the Stylus 2 Plus phablet in Taiwan, though announced may be an overstatement. Had it not been for a TENAA certification, the smartphone would have gone unnoticed for who knows how long.

The Stylus 2 Plus is undoubtedly the better phablet, compared to the already announcedStylus 2. Its 5.7-inch display gets a proper FullHD resolution and the phone is powered by a more powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 430. This means an octa-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A53 CPU, versus half the number of cores in the Stylus 2. 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage round up the list of chief upgrades.

The Stylus 2 Plus also has the upper hand in the imaging department, with a 16MP primary camera. The 8MP front facing unit is the same as the one on the non-Plus, though.
Measuring 155 x 79.6 x 7.4 mm, the Stylus 2 Plus weighs 146g. The battery inside it is a 3,000mAh unit. The LG Stylus 2 supports Cat. 4 LTE, has dual-SIM slots and boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box.
Priced at TWD 10,990 ($340), the LG Stylus 2 Plus will hit the stores in late June. Global availability remains to be detailed.

Microsoft releases Hub Keyboard for Android

Microsoft has made yet another app for Android, this time a keyboard. The Microsoft Hub Keyboard looks like a simple keyboard at first but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. The keyboard has four main features. The clipboard feature shows you text you had previously copied so you can paste it with a couple of taps. The documents feature lets you login to your Office 365 account and paste the URL of the files by typing their names. The contacts feature lets you type the name of the contact and paste their details by tapping on the suggestions above. Lastly, there is a built-in translator, which can translate the text you're typing to any other language. That aside, the keyboard is extremely basic and does not even have autocorrect, which makes typing extremely difficult. The iPhone 7 might feature a 3D touch home button

After a myriad of leaks and rumors, we are now fairly certain that the new iPhone lineup will be available in the middle of September. This shortness in time also tends to give the rest of the Apple rumor collection a certain air of plausibility as well. However, that logic seems to be failing quickly, with head-turning latecomers to the show, like the recent iPhone 6SE naming rumor or the shots of a trio of devices, instead of a duo. Continuing the same trend of alleged surprises, a new rumor suggests the next iPhone will have a 3D touch home button. The idea is that it will work similar to recent MacBook touchpads. iPhone SE teardown shows hardware ranging from iPhone 5 to 6s

The Apple iPhone SE is a 6s in a 5s body, but Chipworks dug into the internals and it turns out the story is more complicated than that. It straddles multiple generations - from the iPhone 5 selfie camera to the iPhone 6s chipset, a whopping four generations. The Apple A9 chipset is brand new and the SK Hynix-made LPDDR4 2GB memory matches the 6s as well. The NFC, audio chips and motion sensor are from that generation as well. The storage appears to be from the 6s as well, but an earlier 19nm chip instead of the 15nm being shipped now. The Qualcomm modem from the earlier iPhone 6 model while the touchscreen controller goes back to the iPhone 5s. News Samsung Galaxy S4 to support the Gear smartwatch

by October Samsung's executive vice president for marketing at the company's mobile division Lee Young-hee has revealed that the Galaxy S4 will get support for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch by the end of October. Additionally, the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S III smartphone are also going to support the company's smartwatch. This will happen by the end of December, according to Lee Young-hee. The compatibility between the products will come as part of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update that the trio of smartphones is bound to get. The update brings the crucial Bluetooth 4.0 LE support that the Galaxy Gear requires. The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will start selling in South Korea in October. The unsubsidized price of the Galaxy Gear is €350 .
