Game Mode coming soon on Windows 10
Windows 10 quickly made gamer fans thanks to perks like DirectX12.
Now a new report has it the OS will become even more game-friendly.
According to Microsoft tipster WalkingCat, the latest build of Windows 10 (14997) has a DLL file named “gamemode.dll”. Of course this doesn’t mean that such feature is ready but he already voiced opinions about such mode months ago.
It appears as if the mode will allow Windows to adjust resources allocated to the CPU and graphics card to prioritize games giving better framerates. According to sources the mode will work much like Xbox One’s handling of a game - all the resources are working for the currently running window.
Launch date is not announced yet since and there hasn’t even been testing reported. If such feature is available it could mean that users would have another reason to switch from Windows 7, something that Microsoft is fighting for in the last two years.
