Xperia X Premium leak from last week is fake, Sony Mobile Taiwan says

Remember the Sony Xperia X Premium? Last week a rumor claimed this is a device that will launch soon, as a successor to the Z5 Premium from last year. The X Premium was supposed to join the Xperia X, X Performance, and XA in the new X family, and like its predecessor the main selling point had to do with the display.
The Xperia X Premium was said to be the first mobile device with an HDR screen, capable of showing 1.07 billion colors (compared to 16.8 million for every other handset out there). It was also going to have 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000:1 contrast ratio, and an insane peak brightness of 1,300 nits, more than twice as much as what the panel in the Samsung Galaxy S7 can achieve.
Do all of these things sound too good to be true? Well, it turns out they might be. Sony Mobile's Taiwan arm has contacted ePrice (a well known Taiwanese news source and discussion forum) about this story and unequivocally stated it's fake.
Now there are a couple of possible caveats here. The company did not explicitly say that the Xperia X Premium doesn't exist or isn't in development, just that the leak is fake. That means some (or all) of the aforementioned details of the handset could be wrong, but the X Premium may surface in the future after all.
Finally, there's also the pretty slim chance that Sony Mobile's Taiwanese arm isn't in the loop with regard to new phone development and thus doesn't have the information about the Xperia X Premium yet. If neither of these hypotheses is true, then chances are that unfortunately the X Premium was just a figment of some Sony fan's imagination.

Galaxy A9 Pro international variant is now Bluetooth certified

The Samsung SM-A910F - which is alleged to be the international variant of the Galaxy A9 Pro (SM-A9100) - has now received certification from the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), indicating an imminent launch. This comes just a few weeks after the handset (both standard and dual-SIM models) received Wi-Fi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA). Prior to that, the phone was spotted on India's import/export tracking website Zauba. Sadly, pricing and availability details of the Samsung SM-A910F aren't yet known. iPhone SE teardown shows hardware ranging from iPhone 5 to 6s

The Apple iPhone SE is a 6s in a 5s body, but Chipworks dug into the internals and it turns out the story is more complicated than that. It straddles multiple generations - from the iPhone 5 selfie camera to the iPhone 6s chipset, a whopping four generations. The Apple A9 chipset is brand new and the SK Hynix-made LPDDR4 2GB memory matches the 6s as well. The NFC, audio chips and motion sensor are from that generation as well. The storage appears to be from the 6s as well, but an earlier 19nm chip instead of the 15nm being shipped now. The Qualcomm modem from the earlier iPhone 6 model while the touchscreen controller goes back to the iPhone 5s. 12.2-inch version of the Lenovo Yoga Book with Android shows up at Amazon priced at just $299.99

At IFA last year, Lenovo turned some heads with its Yoga Book, a 2-in-1 laptop / tablet hybrid that doesn't have an actual physical keyboard. Instead, its so-called Halo Keyboard is flat and doubles as a writing surface, complete with predictive input and autocorrect functionality. So far the Yoga Book has been available with a 10.2-inch 1080p touchscreen, running either Windows or Android. A model with Chrome OS on board is coming this year, but also a bigger one too. While the Chrome OS Yoga Book has been confirmed by Lenovo already, a 12.2-inch Yoga Book has been listed by Amazon without any proper official introduction. HTC One (M8) for Windows now available on Amazon for $50

Verizon's HTC One (M8) for Windows is now available for purchase at Amazon US. It costs just $49.99 with a two-year contract. You can get the contract-free (but Verizon-branded) model for $599.99. The smartphone went official a week ago as a Verizon exclusive. Its hardware absolutely identical with its Android-powered sibling - the HTC One (M8) flagship, but runs on Windows Phone 8.1. As we already know n the HTC One (M8) for Windows will be a limited time exclusive, as AT&T has already confirmed it will be selling it later this year. Today various reports suggest the phone is coming to T-Mobile and Sprint, too.
