Motorola Affinity in testing, could be the next Moto E

First details regarding of the upcoming 3rd generation Moto E have surfaced thanks to import documents on Zauba. Codenamed "Affinity", the phone is listed to have a 5" display and a price of just $78.
While it's clear that this price isn't the device's retail one, it's an indication that the "Affinity" is a low-budget device. The current Moto E (2nd gen) sports a 4.5" display, so the upcoming model will presumably grow in size.
Presumably, the Moto E (3rd gen) will be larger in order to accommodate a fingerprint scanner. As a Lenovo exec said earlier in January, all 2016 Moto devices will have fingerprint scanners. Hopefully, the latest Moto E won't be an exception.
Recent information suggests that Motorola prepares to announce the Moto G5 and G4 Plus on June 9. We wouldn't be surprised if the Moto E (3rd gen) too gets a place under the spotlights then.

Verizon's Galaxy S5 camera plagued by bugs

Verizon's early adopters of Samsung's latest Galaxy S5 flagship are having some trouble with their devices. Many are reporting their camera refuses to work after a few days. The error message just says "Warning: Camera failed". There is no fix to be found. The users tried everything Verizon has suggested them to do - software and hardware factory resets, wiping caches from recovery, etc. Nothing works so far. The unlucky owners are having their devices replaced, but there is no guarantee this won't happen again. There is even a Galaxy Note 3 on Verizon affected by the same problem already. Hopefully this issue is resolved quickly by a firmware update. Meanwhile we advise Verizon's Galaxy S5 users to stay away from third-party camera apps such as Instagram, Shapchat, Facebook, etc. because some users are reporting the problem started after installing and using such an app.

Sony Shows A Profit, But Hardware Sales Are Soft

Then again, software sales are booming. Today, Sony released its first quarter financial results for the period running from April 1, 2013 to June 30, 2013. Things continue to look up for the once-struggling company, as it again managed to post a quarterly profit, albeit a modest one. ...the company’s profit after taxes amounts to about $35 million. During the quarter, Sony’s company-wide sales brought in $17.3 billion, which is a 13 percent increase from the same quarter last year. “This increase was primarily due to the favorable impact of foreign exchange rates,” however, as well as “an increase in financial services revenue, and an increase in unit sales of smartphones.” If currency exchange rates remained consistent over the last year, sales actually would have decreased three percent. Tomb Raider Next-Gen Sequel Confirmed

It's "well into development" too. Square Enix has confirmed it is working on a Tomb Raider sequel for the next generation of consoles. In an open letter , the company's Western CEO Phil Rogers confirmed that a sequel has been in development for some time. "I am also excited to reveal that we are well into development on a next-generation Tomb Raider sequel – something you may have heard about recently," he wrote. A sequel was pretty much guaranteed considering the game's success. We heard at Comic-Con this year that Dark Horse comics were producing a series set after the conclusion of the first game and designed to lead into the eventual follow-up . Still, it's good to know for certain that the game is in development, that it's making good progress, and that it'll be on next-gen consoles everywhere. Microsoft Files Patent for Head-Mounted Display Device

These AR glasses are somewhat reminiscent of Google Glass. Microsoft may have plans to release a head-mounted display device in the future, if a newly filed patent is any indication. The device comes in the form of glasses and may be equipped with things like a microphone, an eye-tracking system, a depth camera, and a camera capable of recognizing the faces of other players. The patent describes it as being intended for multiplayer gaming applications, such as being able to use a voice commands or eye-tracking data to send a game invitation to another player, who could then use his or her glasses to respond. Limiting a device like this to sending game invites might seem like a very narrow use of such a thing. While that is the sort of functionality the patent primarily describes, it notes that this is not the extent of what Microsoft may use it for.
