Instagram rolls out black and white UI to some users

Instagram seems to be testing a completely revamped UI for its app. A few users have tweeted about their app turning completely grayscale, save for the images, of course.
For most parts, the new design is similar to the current one. What is different is that Instagram has dropped the blue bar at the top and the distinct square buttons at the bottom. The bar at the top is now plain white with black text and icons. The bar on the bottom loses its borders for buttons and instead has simplified iconography. This simplification of icons and monochromatic theme continues elsewhere in the app as well.
So far we have only see these from iOS users, but if Instagram does go with this design then it's likely the Android app will be updated with a similar look as well. Instagram hasn't said anything yet officially about the update, which means it is simply testing waters at this time.

Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 for AT&T gets FCC approval

The AT&T version of the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 has payed a visit to the FCC, carrying the model number SM-P907A. The tablet packs 4G LTE connectivity and will operate on the LTE bands 4 and 17. There’s every indication that outside of this, the NotePRO 12.2 for AT&amp:T will feature the same specs as its international sibling. Under the hood of the tablet lives a Snapdragon 800 chipset with a 2.3GHz quad-core Krait 400 CPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. There’s a microSD card slot on board as well as the S Pen stylus. The tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz UI on top. At the back, there’s an 8MP snapper with LED flash joined by a 2MP front-facing camera. The battery is 9,500mAh and as in most tablets isn’t user accessible. Currently, there’s no set time date for the tablet or pricing to speak of. 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners can test drive Android Marshmallow

This way for the Marshmallow trial. Sony's Concept for Android initiative will allow 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact owners to beta test Android's new major version. The new software is built on feedback Sony received from the initiative launched earlier this year. If you want in, you'll have to check in with the Concept Sign-up app . It's first come, first serve so there's an element of urgency. Note that the test is limited to select European countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Ireland or Germany. If you're selected for the test, you'll get a notification in the next few weeks. The software should start rolling out soon after that. NSA is able to install spyware on all iPhones

A leaked NSA document proves that the agency is capable of easily deploying spyware on all iPhones and can have access to user data including SMS messages, contacts, and even a user's location by utilizing cell tower information. What's even scarier is that the NSA can remotely access an iPhone's camera and microphone that is infected with the spyware. According to the leaked intel, the initiative, named DROPOUT JEEP, began in October of 2008. The document delineates that the NSA would need physical access to the device in order to install the software, which doesn't sound too bad. However, the German Magazine, Der Spiegel, which also published the DROPOUT JEEP data, believes that the NSA rerouted shipments of brand new iPhones before they went out to consumers to install the spyware. Even worse, there was some speculation a while back from Edward Snowden, that suggests Apple may have allowed the NSA access to their products. The news was reported...

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to come with new design, flexible display

The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch has been rumored to come out in tandem with the Galaxy S5. Now a new publication in a Korean media, which claims to be in touch with Samsung insiders, the new generation smartwatch will be announced in March or April. The announcement is likely to happen in London, probably at an Unpacked event. The insider also claims that Samsung has felt the need to radically change the design of the upcoming Gear. The overhaul will include a new, flexible OLED display. Additionally, the report says that Samsung has gone to quite the extremes and has changed all the parts that look “dull or boring.” Previous rumors have hinted that the Gear 2 might be 15-20% thinner than the first generation.
