Microsoft Changing SkyDrive Name to OneDrive

Existing data to carry over seamlessly.

Microsoft's SkyDrive cloud storage service has received a new name. Last year, BSkyB successfully took Microsoft to court, stating the SkyDrive moniker infringed on the UK broadcaster's trademark. Today, Microsoft has announced the service will henceforth be called OneDrive.
"We believe the new OneDrive name conveys the value we can deliver for you and best represents our vision for the future," reads a blog post from Microsoft. "We are excited about what is to come, and can’t wait to share more."
Current SkyDrive users should see little change as the OneDrive name rolls out; Microsoft says all currently uploaded data will remain available. The company did not announce any other feature changes beyond the new name.
