Microsoft Lumia 940 and 940XL rumoured to launch on October 19

While there have already been reports that Microsoft's upcoming flagships, dubbed Lumia 940 and Lumia 940XL, will be unveiled in the month of October, looks like now we have a possible launch date for the devices.
According to a report from NPU, the handsets will be unveiled on October 19 in New York. Not only this, the report also says that the Surface Pro 4 tablet as well as a new Microsoft Band could also be introduced at the same event alongside the flagships, something which is in-line with what we've already heard before.
For those who aren't already aware, the flagship devices were earlier said to be named Lumia 950 and 950XL, but recent reports have suggested that they'll be dubbed Lumia 940 and 940XL instead. Needless to say, none of this has been officially confirmed by the company, so take it with a pinch of salt.
This comes just a few weeks after an image (see above) showing a prototype of either of the two flagships surfaced online.
