Sony teases Xperia Z2 ahead of MWC event
Sony has tweeted out an image (shown below) of processed film, lots
of sticky note paper and scribbles with the promise that “Something
extraordinary is coming…”.
While we cannot gather much from the laconic image what we can guess at is that the something in question is coming in a couple of days at the Mobile World Congress and could very well turn out to be the Xperia Z2. Perhaps the numerous colorful props in the image would indicate a black, white, red, purple, yellow and pink color option, or perhaps we’re looking too much into it?
Sony has been rumored to be prepping the Xperia Z2 for the MWC floor in Barcelona along with an Xperia Tablet Z2. We’ve seen many leaks of the Xperia Sirius which although carrying a model name closer to the Xperia SP of old looks to be a higher-grade successor to the Xperia Z1 with thinner bezels, 4K video recording, 3 gigs of RAM and an improved KitKat-based Sony launcher on board.
As for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z2, it’s expected to be water resistant, sport a 10.1″ 1920 x 1080 Triluminos display, 6.4 mm thin chassis, 3 GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 SoC.
