Samsung Galaxy S5 gets an octacore Exynos flavor too

Yesterday's Samsung Galaxy S5 event had one curious omission. If you looked at the spec sheet you'd notice that the company was seemingly only offering the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC for its latest flagship with the usual Exynos variant nowhere to be found.

Turns out, there will be an Exynos variant of the Galaxy S5. According to a blog post by Samsung (which has now been redacted for some reason), the company will offer a 2.1GHz octacore variant of the Exynos SoC for the Galaxy S5.
It is unclear whether this will be limited to select markets or if Samsung will adopt its previous strategy of keeping the Qualcomm model US exclusive and offer the Exynos model in all other regions. If that is the case, hopefully the Exynos model won't lack any major features, such as 4K video recording, the way it did on the Galaxy Note 3.
The exact Exynos model is unknown. We will probably find out more when Samsung announces it officially, along with its availability on the S5.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to come with new design, flexible display

The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch has been rumored to come out in tandem with the Galaxy S5. Now a new publication in a Korean media, which claims to be in touch with Samsung insiders, the new generation smartwatch will be announced in March or April. The announcement is likely to happen in London, probably at an Unpacked event. The insider also claims that Samsung has felt the need to radically change the design of the upcoming Gear. The overhaul will include a new, flexible OLED display. Additionally, the report says that Samsung has gone to quite the extremes and has changed all the parts that look “dull or boring.” Previous rumors have hinted that the Gear 2 might be 15-20% thinner than the first generation. 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners can test drive Android Marshmallow

G4 bootloops are caused by hardware issue, LG vows to repair affected units

Many owners of the LG G4 have complained about a bootloop issue, but so far without receiving any assistance whatsoever from the Korean smartphone maker. Well, that's finally changed. LG has now acknowledged the bootloop issue, and after a thorough investigation has concluded that a hardware problem is to blame. Specifically, the bootloops are caused by a "loose contact between components". The company has vowed to fix the problem for affected devices, with no additional cost for its customers of course.
