Samsung smartwatch with Tizen OS gets tipped for MWC launch

According to a report in USA Today, the upcoming refresh of the Samsung Galaxy Gear will boot Tizen OS. The Korean giant is widely expected to launch its next generation smartwatch alongside the Samsung Galaxy S5 next week, on February 24.

Reportedly, the upcoming smartwatch will feature new HTML5 version of Tizen. The new OS build will allow Samsung to attract web developers to create applications for the device.
USA Today sources explain Samsung’s alleged swap of the current Galaxy Gear’s Android build with Tizen as an early move to counter Google’s influence over an OS ecosystem for wearable devices. The search giant is developing Android version designed specifically for the aforementioned, rapidly expanding product segment. When utilized, it will allow Google to increase its ad revenues from the services it provides even further.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to come with new design, flexible display

The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch has been rumored to come out in tandem with the Galaxy S5. Now a new publication in a Korean media, which claims to be in touch with Samsung insiders, the new generation smartwatch will be announced in March or April. The announcement is likely to happen in London, probably at an Unpacked event. The insider also claims that Samsung has felt the need to radically change the design of the upcoming Gear. The overhaul will include a new, flexible OLED display. Additionally, the report says that Samsung has gone to quite the extremes and has changed all the parts that look “dull or boring.” Previous rumors have hinted that the Gear 2 might be 15-20% thinner than the first generation. G4 bootloops are caused by hardware issue, LG vows to repair affected units

Many owners of the LG G4 have complained about a bootloop issue, but so far without receiving any assistance whatsoever from the Korean smartphone maker. Well, that's finally changed. LG has now acknowledged the bootloop issue, and after a thorough investigation has concluded that a hardware problem is to blame. Specifically, the bootloops are caused by a "loose contact between components". The company has vowed to fix the problem for affected devices, with no additional cost for its customers of course.
