Samsung Smartphone GamePad hands-on

We got to spend some time with Samsung Smartphone GamePad accessory and got some pictures as well as some impressions for you guys.

The GamePad wirelessly connects to any Android device from 4″ to 6.3″ and as you can see snuggles the Galaxy Note 3 pretty comfortably. It works over Bluetooth 4.0 and you can take advantage of the built-in NFC for easy pairing. The GamePad has two analogue sticks, one directional pad, four action keys, 2 trigger buttons on the top and a start select button.
The Samsung Smartphone Gamepad has a built-in battery, which can charge a device via microUSB. The GamePad takes some getting used too but by the time you learn the controls feels incredibly comfortable to play with and along with the mount provide excellent gaming experience (not all titles though – some are simply designed to use touch).

The sticks have a soft-touch feel to them while buttons are clicky with great feedback. Balance feels great even with the big Galaxy Note 3 attached.

There are grips on the back of the GamePad, which enhance the feel in the hands. The gamepad feels okay at 195 grams but adding a hefty device on top can become a bit tiring on the hands.

As Android is built around versatility there are many games that excel with the Gamepad – Asphalt 8 and Dead Trigger and just some that pop to mind and are enhanced by the added controls.

Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 to come with new design, flexible display

The Samsung Galaxy Gear 2 smartwatch has been rumored to come out in tandem with the Galaxy S5. Now a new publication in a Korean media, which claims to be in touch with Samsung insiders, the new generation smartwatch will be announced in March or April. The announcement is likely to happen in London, probably at an Unpacked event. The insider also claims that Samsung has felt the need to radically change the design of the upcoming Gear. The overhaul will include a new, flexible OLED display. Additionally, the report says that Samsung has gone to quite the extremes and has changed all the parts that look “dull or boring.” Previous rumors have hinted that the Gear 2 might be 15-20% thinner than the first generation. 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact owners can test drive Android Marshmallow

This way for the Marshmallow trial. Sony's Concept for Android initiative will allow 10,000 Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact owners to beta test Android's new major version. The new software is built on feedback Sony received from the initiative launched earlier this year. If you want in, you'll have to check in with the Concept Sign-up app . It's first come, first serve so there's an element of urgency. Note that the test is limited to select European countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, United Kingdom, Ireland or Germany. G4 bootloops are caused by hardware issue, LG vows to repair affected units

Many owners of the LG G4 have complained about a bootloop issue, but so far without receiving any assistance whatsoever from the Korean smartphone maker. Well, that's finally changed. LG has now acknowledged the bootloop issue, and after a thorough investigation has concluded that a hardware problem is to blame. Specifically, the bootloops are caused by a "loose contact between components". The company has vowed to fix the problem for affected devices, with no additional cost for its customers of course. It turns out that the G4 units experiencing this are not from one particular retail partner - they can be among those sold by carriers, or third-parties.
