Google Search app can now launch your camera using voice commands

Google has added two new voice commands to the Search app on Android that will let you launch the camera on your phone or tablet using just your voice.

If you need to take a picture, all you have to do is hit the microphone button or say “Ok Google” and then say the voice command “Take a picture”. If you want to record a video, say “Record a video” instead. If you think this is not very useful, then you are absolutely right.
Most people who take pictures regularly have the camera app icon on their homescreens, which is quicker to access than hitting the voice search button and then saying the voice command. Then there is also the fact that you can launch the camera from the lockscreen itself, a functionality available in Android for quite some time now.
The video recording command is slightly more useful of the two, since normally the camera starts in still camera mode, so you can save a couple of seconds there. Still, overall, not one of the more useful additions to Android.
