Google Glass Partners with Makers of Ray-Ban and Oakley

Luxury eyeglass manufacturer helping to make Google Glass more fashionable.

Google today announced their partnership with Luxottica, a group of eyewear retailers in the US whose portfolio includes names such as Ray-Ban and Oakley.
"Light, simple and modular, Glass introduces new functionality as your glasses get smarter," Google says in a Google+ post, "but bringing your own style to Glass is just as important."
Google Glass earlier this year launched its Titanium Collection, offering over 40 different combinations of frames, shades, and colours for users to customise their eyewear with, but Google says that that was "not enough."
This new partnership with Luxottica will marry function with a much wider range of styles, elevating Google Glass from its current slightly dorky form.
In January, Google Glass revealed its small range of frames for prescription lenses. Google plans to make Google Glass available to public sometime before the end of this year, and it says, "Luxottica’s retail and wholesale distribution channels will serve us well when we make Glass available to more people down the road."
