Vivo X9 allegedly coming next month

Vivo has mostly been keeping a low profile the past couple of months, which can only mean the Chinese OEM is due for a release. Industry sources hint that the company's next handset will bear the X9 moniker and might be unveiled as soon as November 17.
According to a fresh leak on Weibo, the handset will feature a dual-camera setup, likely with a Sony Exmor IMX 260 lens. The module in question is actually Samsung's Dual Pixel setup - the one found inside the Galaxy S7, S7 edge as well as their now discontinued bigger brother, the Note7. This likely means that the Vivo X9 will have the familiar dual pixel RGB lens with a resolution of 12MP.
And if you feel like the number of dual-camera handset on the horizon has risen steeply as of late, it is not just a hunch. After Qualcomm announced a refreshed trio of chipsets a few days ago, all with "Clear Sight dual camera technology" on board, the mobile silicon titan made a clear push towards this kind of setup in future smartphones across a wide price range.
Sources claim that the Vivo X9 will be based on precisely one of these new chips, the Snapdragon 653 in particular. Besides the powerful processor, it will likely come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage.
Sadly, not much else is known about the device. We will just have to wait for the November 17 event in Beijing, China, where the Vivo X9 will likely share the spotlight with its XPlay 6 sibling.
