NVIDIA announces GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti
NVIDIA has announced two new budget gaming cards, the GTX 1050 and
the GTX 1050 Ti. Both are based on the new GP107 GPU that uses 14nm
process.
The GTX 1050 has 640 CUDA cores, 40 texture units, and 32 ROPs. The
base clock speed is 1354MHz and boost clock speed is 1455MHz. The 1050
has 7Gbps GDDR5 2GB memory with 128-bit memory interface and 112GB/s
memory bandwidth. Meanwhile, the 1050 Ti has 768 CUDA cores, 48 texture
units, and 32 ROPs. The clock speed is slightly lower at 1290MHz base
and 1392MHz boost. It has similar memory speed and bandwidth but doubles
the capacity to 4GB.
The good thing about both the cards is that the TDP is 75W, meaning they can just draw power from the PCI-E connector without requiring external power. However, overclocked versions of these cards will need external power.
The GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti are expected to go on sale on October 25 from all the major OEMs. They are priced at $109 for the 1050 and $139 for the 1050 Ti. Expect stock and factory overclocked versions at launch.
