Nokia 8 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage officially confirmed to be coming next month

The Nokia 8 variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage was recently spotted in documents of the US FCC. And now, according to a new report, the model has been officially confirmed by HMD.
The report notes the company has confirmed the variant will be made available in Europe (Germany, specifically) next month on October 20. It'll only be available in Polished Blue color option though. As for pricing, the device will carry a tag of €669, which is €90 more than what the regular 4GB/64GB version carries.
There's currently no information on exactly when the variant will arrive in other key markets around the world, including the US, where even the standard Nokia 8 isn't available yet.

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Review

Image
Impressively, it's exactly the same game on Wii U and 3DS - but is it worth your time on either? Every time a new Monster Hunter games comes out, I think: surely, I must be done with this now. After several hundred hours over at least three versions, I’m not going to get sucked in again. But I do, every time. It's because Monster Hunter’s world is so absorbing, and the gentle rhythm of prepare, hunt, and collect is so innately satisfying. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the slickest game in the series to date, and it’s an ideal introduction to the hugely enjoyable business of cooperative monster-slaying. The basic idea is to venture out into the wilds, find an impressive monster, kill it, and then make hats and swords out of its entrails – but there’s a lot more to it than that. There are 12 weapons, hundreds of items, and more than 100 hours’ worth of quests, but it’s the thrill of the chase and the addictive rush of hard-earned victory that continually hooks...

Apple really wants developers to take the Touch Bar seriously

Image
As we are sure most of you already heard, Apple finally brought an arguably overdue refresh to its Mac Pro laptop lineup on Thursday. It consists of a trio of new laptops, two in the 13-inch and on in the 15-inch form factor. All of them are more powerful and significantly thinner than their predecessors, have better screens, improved touchpads and lets call it a "different" approach to the keyboard and I/O, now entirely made of Type-C ports. However, all that was totally overshadowed by the introduction of the Touch Bar - Apple's new touch-screen strip, that courageously sits above the keyboard (yes, we do think it fits, since the Escape and Function keys are now completely tactile-free) and promises to revolutionize and totally change more than a few familiar workflows. Regardless of your or our personal opinion on the new tech and the respective willingness to look at the keyboard, rather than the screen in order to take advantage of some of th...

How the Modders Conquered Skyrim

Image
How talented fans have extended Skyrim’s appeal far further than Bethesda ever could. The greatest secret of the Glorious PC Master Race is that – shh - most games on PC and games on consoles are basically the same, whether you're herding it along with a keyboard or a games controller. But the PC modding communities for games like Skyrim are the exception to that rule: talented individuals (or teams) working long hours to create all manner of extra content and gameplay tweaks, while console players must wait like Dickens characters for their next serving of official DLC. The PC is an immeasurably better place to play Skyrim than on console, and its modding community is why. The jump-off for Skyrim's legions of modders is the Creation Kit  - a suite of world-building tools that let players and would-be designers play around with the game's toybox of items, characters and dungeons. The Creation Kit is free to download (as are its equivalents for other Bethe...

Oppo confirms the Find 7 will have a 2K screen

The upcoming Oppo Find 7 is rumored to have a lot of cool specs, among which a 2K screen that's as big as 5.7". Oppo officially denied that the Find 7 will have a 5.7" screen (or a 7" one for that matter), but now the company is confirming the 2K resolution. The 2K resolution in question (there are several ) is probably QHD – no, not qHD, Q HD or Quad HD (4x 720p). That's 2,560 x 1,440. #Find5 was the world’s first smartphone with a 5” 1080p display. #Find7 is taking it one step further. #AlwaysImprove pic.twitter.com/gSYadlgOrl — OPPO (@oppo) December 17, 2013 Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 805 chipset and 3GB RAM to handle the massive resolution. Despite the several official confirmations from Oppo, the company is yet to announce when the Find 7 will be unveiled. Oppo missed the opportunity to launch the first 1080p phone (despite what the tweet says, HTC beat it with the Butterfly by a month) and now history might repeat it...
