Former Samsung CEO appointed as President of Nokia Technologies in the US

Nokia announces its newest hire: Gregory Lee, (now) former CEO of Samsung Electronics North America. After being 13 years with Samsung, where he most recently led all of Samsung’s businesses in North America along with its vast portfolio of mobile and consumer electronics.
Nokia has appointed Lee as the head of its US executives team, where Lee will lead Nokia’s efforts in consumer products and further push the company’s presence in the virtual reality and digital health industries.
I am excited by the opportunity to lead Nokia Technologies. The… team has produced innovative products and solutions in dynamic, high growth segments of the consumer technology market, and I am honored to be in a position to help build on this success in the future.
Before his career at Samsung, Lee has led product development, sales, and strategic management for other global brands such as Johnson & Johnson, Kellogg’s, and Procter & Gamble.
Lee will be based in California and will report directly to Rajeev Suri, President and CEO of Nokia as a member of Nokia’s Group Leadership team. “We’ve chosen the right leader to take Nokia Technologies forward at a time of renewed excitement about the Nokia brand around the world.” – Suri, CEO of Nokia.

For a number of quite sound marketing reasons Windows-powered mobile phones rarely come near to the hardware in current Android powerhouses, but with the introduction of Windows 10 and sophisticated features like Continuum, this is set to quickly change. Higher-end offers, like the Acer Jade Primo are starting to appear and it naturally, it was a matter of time before China OEM's enter the market as well. Its "Vowney" model was first spotted a few months ago and if rumors are true, it does promise to dual-boot Android and Windows 10 on quite a capable hardware platform. The Sony Xperia Z2 is finally here and despite coming to market just five months after the Xperia Z1 , it improves quite a few bits of the package making for a very tempting upgrade. The Xperia Z2 is only slightly taller than its predecessor but compensates with less width, girth and lower weight. The Galaxy S5 Zoom aka K Zoom has been making the rounds in the rumorland for quite a while now. The Galaxy S5 Zoom has passed through the FCC and the official announcement might just be around the corner.
