Skype to pull the plug on its Qik video messaging service next month

Microsoft-owned Skype has announced that its Qik video messaging service - which was launched back in 2014 - will be shut down in March. The company said the last day the service will be available for use will be March 24.
The Skype Qik app allowed users to record and send 42-second videos either to a single recipient or a whole group. In addition, users could also record 5-second videos, dubbed Qik Fliks, that can be stored and used as canned responses.
Skype explains that since the app was launched, "we have learned that many of you are already doing these things in Skype, and as a result, we migrated some of Qik’s most used features into the Skype app you already know and love."
"We’ve enabled video messaging in Skype and fun features such as filters, to make your messages even more personal. To send a video message in Skype today, simply look for the video message icon in the media bar." And that's the reason the company thought it's time to pull the plug on Qik.

Microsoft Confirms Windows 8.1 is a Free Update

Still no confirmation of an exact release date. Last week, Microsoft admitted the company was at work on the first major update for Windows 8 , codenamed "Blue." Details were scarce at the time, but Microsoft CMO and CFO Tami Reller has now formally revealed the update as Windows 8.1 during JP Morgan's Technology, Media, & Telcom Conference, reports Engadget . Unfortunately, there's still no confirmation of a precise release date. Reller stated Windows 8.1 will launch as a free update to both the standard Windows 8 OS and its ARM-based RT cousin. According to Reller, the update will roll out sometime later this year. A public preview is still slated for June 26, during Microsoft's upcoming Build conference. Last week, Reller stated the forthcoming update would address "customer feedback" Microsoft had received for Windows 8 and Windows RT. OnePlus One tops Galaxy S5, One (M8) in AnTuTu 4

OnePlus continues to tease its first phone called the One. The maker has revealed it will use the Snapdragon MSM8974AC chipset – the one with Krait 400 @ 2.5GHz – and 3GB RAM for its debut handset. OnePlus released a screenshot of an AnTuTu 4 score, which tops all current flagships. This is the cumulative score, it doesn’t show the separate CPU and 3D scores that the device achieved, but they should be on par or better than any other Android on the market right now (or in the near future). HTC 10 shows its face again, black version pictured

HTC 10 is going official on April 12 but we know pretty much everything there is to know about company's next big thing. We know the design is a hybrid between the One M9 and One A9, we know about its Quad HD AMOLED screen and Snapdragon 820 chip, the possibility of a Snapdragon 652 model, its rumored retail price at €740, even the reported April 15 as a lunch date. HTC has begun a marketing campaign with teasers over the social networks, but the leaks are quite more revealing than HTC's hints. Today's leak show the black flavor of the HTC 10 shot next to its silver sibling. We've seen its metal chassis leak already in detail, though, and this gloomy shot only shows yet another view of the black version.
