LG G2 KitKat benchmarks

Image
After the LG G2 received its KitKat update we decided to see what’s what and check out if the phone’s performance has seen drastic changes compared to its Jelly Bean state. We re-tested the battery performance and now it’s time to put the chipset through its paces. The battery performance showed a leap from a 62 hour endurance rating to an 81 hour one, which was mainly due to a much-improved stand by time. As for the benchmarks, well, there’s a different story here. Note that KitKat brings faster multitasking because of optimized memory usage, which should aid in better benchmarking scores. The LG G2 offers a very capable Snapdragon 800 rig with a quad-core 2.26 GHz Krait CPU, 2 GB of RAM and the Adreno 330. This is still considered flagship material hardware even with Snapdragon 801 and its faster GPU lurking about. Let’s see in the tests below. BenchmarkPi and Linpack are both centered around the CPU performance – the first looking for single core ...

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′ for iOS and Android game review

Image
Another superhero movie, another superhero movie tie-in game. We see these kind of games pop up quite frequently and rarely do they ever do justice to the movie, let alone to gaming. But people keep making them because, well, who doesn’t like money? The previous The Amazing Spider-Man game for mobile was mediocre at best (to be honest, the movie wasn’t significantly better). This year, we have a sequel for the movie that promises to be bigger and better than the last one and like clockwork, there is a game that goes along with it. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 game is now out on iOS and Android and we decided to take a look at it, expectations set firmly to ‘Low’. Gameplay The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sees the return of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man, solving crimes and taking out bad guys before bed time. The story of the game is of course based on that of the movie, with a few extra things thrown in for good measure. The basic gameplay should be familiar to an...

LG puts up a new image of their G Watch

Image
LG’s upcoming wearable, the G Watch has been circulating the internet and the Korean tech manufacturer decided to release something to whet our appetites: a new teaser picture. As you can see above, the ad shows off the smartwatch’s water and dust resistance. This seems to be a good marketing strategy for LG, as the idea of strapping a small computer to your wrist doesn’t exactly instill ideas of durability or practicality in the minds of most consumers. The G Watch does seem like an interesting concept: an understated Android Smartwatch that won’t balk at the threat of dust and water. LG’s upcoming wearable is also expected to rock a 1.65” display along with 4GB of storage built into the watch. There haven’t been any additional details about the tech specs or price of the device.

Lenovo’s latest slate should have LTE-capable versions, a dock, keyboard dock, and a keyboard case for on-the-go usage. There’s no official date for when the ThinkPad 10 will drop, and the price hasn’t been released either. However, expect the asking price to be higher than than the ThinkPad 8′s $...
